While applying for fellowship training in pain medicine, he was offered many opportunities, but he chose to train at Mount Sinai Morningside (formerly St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center), affiliated with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S), because it offered the best training in the field in the tri-state area.
